Witty Quotes from Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
When I was growing up, I loved watching Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen on TV and our whole family enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. The following is just a small sampling of that.
"There are 200 million poor in the world who would gladly take the vow of poverty if they could eat, dress and have a home like I do."
It's like being a Knight of the Garter. It's an honor, but it doesn't hold up anything."
"An atheist is a man who has no invisible means of support."
"Baloney is the unvarnished lie laid on so thick you hate it. Blarney is flattery laid on so thin you love it."
“Never measure your generosity by what you give, but rather by what you have left.”
"Love is a mutual self-giving which ends in self-recovery."
"Hearing nuns' confessions is like being stoned to death with popcorn."

Oh, I remember him with fondness, too. My mother was a huge fan of his, and we used to watch him on t.v., plus we had a few of his books. I especially liked his nuns' confession joke!
