Student struggles with abortion, options
In this article, Renae (not her real name), a Catholic college student in Indiana is having an abortion, although she knows it is morally wrong. I was disturbed by the deception put forth here. Here is my response to Renae.
Hmm... Renae, it sounds like you need a reality check. First, I wonder which option your baby would choose, abortion or adoption?
It's interesting to note that throughout this article your baby is continually referred to as a "fetus" and not as a "human being", or as "a separate life growing within your body". Your body is the receptacle of the "gift of life", not something that is to be mutiliated or penetrated with poison to kill the human life within you.
Second, why are you talking with Planned Parenthood -- the largest abortion provider in the world? They are not going to explore all the options with you in any depth nor will they inform you about the many life-threatening dangers of having an abortion with you-- such as post-traumatic abortion syndrome (which can lead to suicide), hemmoraging, stroke, etc.
Nor will they inform you of the psychological or emotional damage that can and often does occur -- such as recurring nightmares, post-traumatic stress syndrome, severe depression, drug addiction, eating disorders, etc. Nowhere is it mentioned that there are plenty of places you can go to get support (free food, clothing, shelter, counseling, financial assistance, and assistance with her education) if you would decide to have your baby and I'm sure Planned Parenthood isn't about to inform you of those and lose a paying customer. No, Planned Parenthood doesn't offer any of those -- they only want their blood money! (Oh, yes, there is an Indiana mandate mentioned, but who is there to see that Planned Parenthood is actually carrying it out, and in what maner do they present information to you? They are notorius for their deception.)
Third, what about STD's, Renae? Do you know about them? Is Planned Parenthood going to tell you the truth about them? Of course not, their job is to promote sex and more sex, so women can have babies for them to slaughter so they can make mega-bucks.
Fourth, what about your soul? How do you think you'll feel about yourself after you have the abortion? The truth is that many women who know it is wrong and do it anyway don't think about the consequences. Many end up feeling guilty because they know in their heart of hearts that abortion is a serious sin. This guilt can last for years afterwards and may never go away. What do you think will happen to your relationship with God after you have an abortion?
Have you seen your baby -- had an ultrasound done? No, Planned Parenthood does not do them. Why? Nearly all women who have ultrasounds are filled with joy when they see the life within them moving and breathing. They see a baby, not cells or a mass of tissue, but a living human being whose heart started beating when he or she was about 18 days old.
Renae, if you or anyone else reading this is considering abortion, get yourself to someone who can give you real help for your problems. Stay away from Planned Parenthood -- they will only do their best to talk you into aborting your child. Find a real crisis pregnancy clinic where you can learn about all of the options in order to make an informed decision based on the truth.
Here is a list of crisis pregnancy centers in Indiana where they can provide you with some real assistance. I pray that if you or someone you know is reading this, that you will contact them. A creditable crisis pregnancy center will give you support and assistance before, after, and during the pregnancy and will refer you to other agencies who can help with all your needs. PP will talk to you about getting an abortion, but that is it. Don't expect to get any help from them after the abortion when you're dealing with the pain.

What a wonderful post and you raise such real truths. Truths that alot of people don't realize.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 21 I found myself pregnant. I did consider an abortion. I called a hospital to make an appointment.
I am so thankful to God that I now have the most kind, wonderful, loving daughter who is almost 13. I can't imagine what I almost did. Thinking about it makes me cry.
Excellent response Jean Marie. I hope it receives much exposure. It could help to save lives and souls.
ReplyDelete"For me, I don't believe in the other options, that being adoption or marriage at this point For me to be able to bring that pregnancy to term, I think I would be worse off emotionally if I had to give it up."
I sidewalk counsel and have heard that remark too often. How very selfish.
"I entrust that a woman makes a conscious choice, a very educated choice in that in the future, there would be methods either to abstain or use birth control or any other methods to prevent another unplanned pregnancy."
"Nobody can ever tell you what is right for you. They can give you their opinion, their advice, they can berate you, they can do whatever, but at the end of the day, you have to do what's right for you at that time in your life, and nobody else knows that but you."
Obviously, this so-called Catholic woman is not authentically Catholic. One could wonder if she knows what her Church teaches or if she even believes in God. It certainly doesn't appear that she has sought counseling from a priest. Then again, she could know all of the truth and still be willing to reject it and God. She needs our prayers for repentance and conversion.
Dear Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful witness! God bless you for sharing your story with others and for giving life to your baby!
Thank you also for your kind words.
Jean
Fredi,
ReplyDeleteI agree -- she deinitely needs our prayers. I'm keeping her in mine.
Thanks for your insightful comments and your kind words.
May the Lord continue to bless others through the work you do for Him and give you wisdom, strength and perseverance.
God bless you,
Jean
