Bioethics Votes in the Senate This Week
The issue of embryonic stem-cell research has been debated for more than a year, now the U.S. Senate is set to vote on a package of three bioethics bills. Those bills include one to provide federal funding for embryonic stem-cell research which CWA strongly opposes, another to ban the farming of human embryos which CWA strongly supports, and a third bill, on which CWA remains neutral, that encourages researchers to find an ethical alternative to the destruction of human life when retrieving embryonic stem-cells. CWA President Wendy Wright has more on these three bills. Click here to listen.
