It's Official: Sebelius to take post in Obama Cabinet


The White House confirmed Saturday that pro-abort, Catholic-in-Name -Only Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, 60, has accepted the president's nomination to run the Department of Health and Human Services.

This selection doesn't surprise me one bit, as "culture of death" Barack Obama has been consistently making poor choices, that are offensive to all people who have a conscience. This, however, is the ultimate slap in the face to all women and to Catholics, as well.

Kathleen Sebelius for Health and Human Services Secretary, are you kidding? If she gets confirmed the name should be changed to Health and IN-human Services.

What’s next; Dr. George Tiller for Surgeon General?

Tiller, you might remember, is the late term abortion doctor who is in court for violation of Kansas abortion laws. This guy is so slimy that he makes most other abortionists look like saints. There’s nothing he won’t do. Just look up his web site and see for yourself.

And guess who Tiller’s political patron is. None other than Health and IN-human Services Secretary nominee Kathleen Sebelius. She has even let Tiller have use of the Governor’s Mansion for a party. Her people say that this was a prize at a fundraiser and that Tiller was the high bidder. What they don’t tell you is that the only people at the fund raiser were pro-abortion people and in fact the fund raiser was specifically for pro-abortion groups. Under these circumstances; who else would win the prize but the one with the most to gain, Tiller.

Make no mistake; Sebelius and Tiller are close, very close. This will jump up and bite her during confirmation hearings. It might prevent her from being confirmed at all.

As much as I would like to see Sebelius gone from the heartland; the thought of a person with her radical views on abortion running the department that deals with health care is sickening. Let's us all hope that Republicans will stand up for what is right and stop this appointment.

With the Obama administration, nothing surprises me -- it's all that I expected from him and more. What does surprise me is that more people -- especially our elected officials -- aren't putting up more of a fight. I'm sure they can use our prayers at this time. Let's continue to pray and fast for B.O.'s conversion, as well as that of Biden, Pelosi, Sebellius, and Tiller during this powerful season of Lent.

Saint Michael de Sanctis: Patron of Cancer Patients

Today is the feast of Saint Michael de Sanctis, also known as St. Michael of the Saints, a Spanish Discalced Trinitarian priest, the patron of cancer patients. Michael Argemir was born on September 29, 1591 at Vic, Catalonia, Spain. At age 6, he told his parents that he planned to become a monk and began modeling his life after Saint Francis of Assisi. Michael’s parents died when he was about ten years old. He then served as an apprentice with a local merchant. During this apprenticeship, he continued his fervent devotion to the Lord, especially to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The saint of the day for August 31 is St. Raymond Nonnatus. He is the patron of expectant mothers, midwives, obstetricians, infertile couples, and newborn babies. Raymond was born at Portella, Catalonia, Spain in 1204, the son of wealthy parents. He was delivered by cesarean section when his mother died in childbirth. Hence his name non natus (not born). In his childhood, he seemed to find pleasure only in his devotions and serious duties. His father, sensing that Raymond was drawn to religious life, ordered him to manage one of the family farms. Raymond readily obeyed but spent his time with the shepherds and workers, studying and praying until his father abandoned the idea of making his son a worldly success. Raymond later joined the the Order of Our Lady of Mercy or the Mercederians, which was founded by St. Peter Nolasco, who devoted to ransoming Christians captured by the Moors.
