The USCCB part of coalition that backs Kagan for Supreme Court

This news item from CWN will make your day (My comments in red):

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is a member of a coalition that is supporting the nomination of Elena Kagan to the United States Supreme Court.

“The President has nominated someone who is extremely well-qualified and who understands the lives of ordinary Americans. The daughter of a housing lawyer and school teacher, and herself a committed educator and public servant, Elena Kagan understands the effects of the courts' decisions on ordinary people,” said Wade Henderson, president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. “We believe she will uphold the Constitution and the law to provide equal justice and protect personal freedoms for everyone in America, not just a few.”

That is a totally ridiculous and outrageous statement. There is no way this ultra far left liberal will uphold the Constitution -- she will make mincemeat of it. Equal justice? Where is the equal justice for the innocent, voiceless unborn whose lives are snuffed out by the thousands daily?  Where is the equal justice for those students who were discriminated against by her at Harvard who were denied access to a military recruiter on campus during a time when our country was at war?

Elena Kagan has zero experience.  She has never heard a single court case in her life. Elena Kagan is a pro-abort who has stated that tax-payer dollars should be used to fund abortion. Kagan has publicly criticized federal regulations that prohibited recipients of Title X family planning funds, from counseling women to get abortions and she helped  keep partial abortion legal by counseling President Clinton to support a phony ban on partial abortions sponsored by pro-abortion ex-Senator Tom Daschle. Kagan is also a member of the National Partnership for Women and Families (NPWF), a pro-abortion organization with strong ties to NARAL Pro-Choice America and Emily's List. The goal the NPWF is "to increase women's access to...reproductive health services and block attempts to limit reproductive rights...and to give every woman access to...abortion services..."

The USCCB is one of more than 200 organizations that belong to the coalition.

The USCCB needs to immediately leave this perverted organization and also needs to publicly speak out against Elena Kagan's nomination to the Supreme Court, encouraging Catholics to protest against this nomination. Her appointment could mean 30 more years of legalized abortion. With approximately 1.3 million abortions performed annually, 30 more years of abortion will cost us 39 million unborn lives.

To protest her nomination, go here to sign the petition.

Call your U.S. Senators  today and tell them you oppose Elena Kagan's nomination

    1. There are days when I truly don't "get" the Catholic Church. Sigh...

    2. Dear Scmom, it isn't the Catholic church, it is the radical progressives within the Catholic church---and we have to stand against them.
      Refer to your Catechism
      #899 and 907.

We discussed this very topic today at my prolife meeting and now here is all the information we need to protest this grotesque nomination. Thank you for providing me with such a great resource for the group!
God Bless you and all the work you do here.

    3. I posted this link to the USCCB's facebook page and received a pretty prompt response stating the USCCB is in the process of removing itself from this organization. When it first joined, it did not represent what it now does and the USCCB is taking action to no longer be involved in this group.
